Privacy and cookie notice
Last updated:
This notice explains which personal data is processed when you visit www.ecomnie.com or join the Ecomnie waitlist, for what purposes and on what legal basis, who receives it, how long it is kept and what rights you have. It is our information notice under Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and Article 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
www.ecomnie.com and the Ecomnie waitlist are operated by Erlik OÜ, a private limited company (osaühing) established in Estonia that is developing Ecomnie. Erlik OÜ is the data controller for the processing described in this notice (“we”, “us”).
For any question about your personal data, write to us at info@ecomnie.com.
2. What data we process
- When you open a page: your IP address, the address of the page, the time of the request and the technical information your browser sends with it (such as browser type and preferred language). Our hosting provider needs this data to deliver the page.
- In your browser: the language you pick, stored in the
ecomnie.localeentry. On the home page, your browser's language and time zone settings may also be used to open the matching language version, and the “page not found” page uses your browser language to show its text in your language; these checks run only in your browser and nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. Your cookie choice is stored the same way, in theecomnie.consententry, and is not sent to us either. - Only if you allow analytics cookies: an online identifier stored in the
_gacookies, the pages you view including any campaign parameters in the link, how you arrive at and use the site (for example the referring page and time spent), device and browser information, and an approximate location (country or city) that Google derives from your IP address. If you join the waitlist, Google Analytics is told that a signup took place and in which page language — never your email address. - If you join the waitlist: your email address and the language of the page you signed up on.
This data is collected by automated means when your browser loads the site and, for the waitlist, through the form you submit.
We do not ask for your name or any other details, and we do not process special categories of personal data. Providing data is not required: you can use the site without allowing cookies and without joining the waitlist; without your email address we simply cannot tell you when Ecomnie launches.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Delivering the website and keeping it secure
The technical data of each visit is used to send you the pages, to protect the site against misuse and to find and fix errors.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a working and secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f); KVKK Article 5(2)(f)).
Remembering your settings
So that the site opens in your language and, where we ask for a cookie choice, does not ask again on every page.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing the site in your language and respecting your choice (GDPR Article 6(1)(f); KVKK Article 5(2)(f)). These entries are strictly necessary for the service you request, so they do not require consent (Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive).
Visit statistics (Google Analytics 4)
To understand how many people visit the site, which pages they use and whether the waitlist works, so that we can improve the site.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which also covers storing and reading cookies on your device (Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive as implemented in Estonia); under KVKK, your explicit consent (Article 5(1)).
Waitlist and launch email
To keep your address and send you one email when Ecomnie launches. We do not use it for anything else and pass it on only to the providers named in section 5.
Legal basis: your consent, which you give by submitting the form (GDPR Article 6(1)(a); KVKK Article 5(1), explicit consent).
4. Cookies and browser storage
Strictly necessary entries are always on; everything else is used only after you allow it.
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
ecomnie.locale | Local storage | This website | Remembers the language you picked | Until you clear your browser storage | Strictly necessary |
ecomnie.consent | Local storage | This website | Remembers your cookie choice | 12 months, then we ask again | Strictly necessary |
_ga | Cookie | Analytics: distinguishes visitors | 2 years | Analytics (with consent) | |
_ga_SHM5MG7MHX | Cookie | Analytics: keeps the session state | 2 years | Analytics (with consent) |
Google sets the _ga cookies on this site's domain (first-party cookies); their duration starts again with each visit while your consent is in place.
We do not use advertising cookies. If we start measuring Google Ads campaigns, advertising will be offered as a separate category in the cookie settings, switched off unless you turn it on, and we will update this notice beforehand.

Change your choice
You can give or withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing deletes the Google cookies listed above from this site.
5. Recipients and transfers abroad
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers below, which process it on our behalf and under our instructions (processors), and with public authorities where the law obliges us to.
- Microsoft (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, Ireland, and its affiliates, including Microsoft Corporation, USA) hosts the website on Azure Static Web Apps and runs the server function behind the waitlist form: technical data of every visit, and your email address while it is passed on to Brevo.
- Google (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, and its affiliates, including Google LLC, USA) provides Google Analytics — only if you allow analytics cookies.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) stores the waitlist and sends the launch email.
Brevo is established in the EU. Microsoft and Google may also process data outside the EU/EEA, in particular in the USA. Microsoft Corporation and Google LLC are certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, GDPR Article 45); their data processing terms also include the Commission's standard contractual clauses (GDPR Article 46).
For visitors in Turkey: because we are established in Estonia and our service providers process data in the EU and possibly in the USA, your visit data, analytics data (with your consent) and, if you join the waitlist, your email address are transferred abroad for the purposes set out in section 3.
6. How long we keep data
- Language choice: in your browser until you clear it.
- Cookie choice: valid for 12 months, after which we ask again; you can change it at any time.
- Google Analytics: the
_gacookies expire 2 years after your last visit, or earlier when you withdraw consent; event data in Google Analytics is deleted after 14 months, after which only aggregated reports remain. - Waitlist: for as long as we maintain the waitlist for the launch of Ecomnie, or until you ask us to delete your address. If you unsubscribe, Brevo keeps your address on a block list only so that you are not emailed again.
- Technical data of visits: we do not keep our own access logs. Microsoft processes this data to deliver and protect the site and keeps its platform logs for a limited period under its own retention rules.
7. Your rights
Under Article 11 KVKK you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed;
- request information about it if it has been processed;
- learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose;
- know the third parties in Turkey or abroad to whom it is transferred;
- request its rectification if it is incomplete or inaccurate;
- request its erasure or destruction under the conditions of Article 7 KVKK;
- request that a rectification, erasure or destruction be notified to the third parties to whom the data was transferred;
- object to a result to your detriment that arises from the analysis of your data exclusively by automated systems;
- claim compensation if you suffer damage because of unlawful processing.
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20).
Right to object (GDPR Article 21): where we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests (section 3), you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. For the waitlist, use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails or write to us at the address in section 1. For cookies, use “Cookie settings” on this page or in the footer.
To exercise your rights, write to info@ecomnie.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity — for the waitlist, writing from the address you signed up with is usually enough. We answer free of charge, at the latest within 30 days under KVKK and within one month under the GDPR.
8. Complaints
If we reject your application under KVKK, you find our answer insufficient or we do not answer in time, you can lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Board (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu, www.kvkk.gov.tr) within 30 days of learning of our answer and in any case within 60 days of your application (Article 14 KVKK).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in particular the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, www.aki.ee), which is competent for us, or the authority of the EU or EEA country where you live or work or where the alleged infringement took place.
9. Changes to this notice
We update this notice when our processing changes, for example before we start measuring advertising. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change affects something you consented to, we will ask for your consent again.
